Lead generation for web design agencies

Lead generationfor web designagencies.

The best time to pitch a website is when a business is new or changing. ClientFinch helps web designers and agencies find newly incorporated and established UK companies in the sectors and towns they serve, so the pipeline stays full of realistic projects.

01

Catch new businesses early

Companies incorporated in the last few weeks are choosing their name, brand and suppliers right now.

02

Work in sectors you know

Search the SIC codes behind your best case studies — hospitality, trades, health, professional services — and lead with relevant work.

03

Build a local pipeline

Find companies registered in your own town or region that you can meet in person and support long term.

Why newly incorporated companies make good web design leads

A company that was formed last month usually has a name, a bank account and very little else. In the weeks after incorporation founders are deciding on branding, booking systems, email and a website. Reaching them in that window — politely, and with relevant examples — is far more effective than trying to persuade an established business to replace a site it is happy with.

Companies House publishes every new incorporation, with the date, registered office and SIC codes. ClientFinch lets you filter by that date range, so “restaurants incorporated in Bristol in the last 90 days” becomes a single search.

Qualifying a web design lead in five minutes

Before you save a company, take a quick look at its online presence.

  1. 01Search the company name: is there a website, a holding page or only social profiles?
  2. 02If there is a site, check it on your phone. Is it clear what they do, where they are and how to book or buy?
  3. 03Look at the SIC codes and company type in ClientFinch to confirm the business is what you expect.
  4. 04Save the lead and note the one improvement you would lead with.

Keeping outreach lawful and welcome

UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) apply to B2B outreach. Emailing a limited company at a generic or role-based address is generally permitted with an easy opt-out, but you should be transparent about who you are, keep messages relevant and stop when asked. Personalised, low-volume outreach based on genuine research is both more effective and easier to justify than bulk mailing.

Filters to use

Build the right list.

Incorporation date range
Set “from” to the last 30–90 days to list brand-new companies that are unlikely to have a finished website yet.
Sector SIC codes
Try 56101 (licensed restaurants), 96020 (hairdressing and beauty), 93130 (fitness facilities) or 41202 (domestic construction).
Location
Narrow to the towns where you already have clients, references or a reputation.
Active companies only
Every listed company has the legal status “Active” — though that does not guarantee it is trading, so check its website.

FAQ

Common questions.

Can ClientFinch tell me if a business has no website?

Not as a filter. Find Leads shows companies with a Verified Website, so companies without a verified match do not appear there; a missing match does not prove a business has no website.

How recent is the incorporation data?

Searches run against the live Companies House API, so newly registered companies appear as soon as Companies House makes them available.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The Free plan is £0 and includes up to 5 company detail views per day. Pro is £49 per month for unlimited access and you can cancel anytime.

Can I export my shortlist?

Yes. Saved leads can be exported to CSV with the company name, company number, date saved, your notes and a link to the Companies House record, ready to import into a CRM or spreadsheet.
